Brothers and Sisters:
It is with a truly heavy heart that I must inform you of the passing of my friend, Alfredo “Al” Granado. Brother Granado passed on Tuesday, October 25th from a long-time illness at age of 61.
Al was employed at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth, Texas, and has been a member of the Machinists Union and a beloved union brother since he initiated into IAM Local Lodge 776-A back in 1979. During his years in the union Al held different positions as Vice-President of local 776-A, Chairman of the Audit, Trustee, Journeyman, and (MNPL) MACHINISTS NON- PARTISAN POLITICAL LEAGUE Committees. Vice-President of Texas State Council of Machinists Region III, and Delegate to the Tarrant County Central Labor Council. He also served two years as an Apprentice Organizer for the IAM Organizing Department before becoming a Grand Lodge Representative in Organizing. Al has been a vital part of the Grand Lodge’s organizing efforts for the past 18 years. His relentless devotion to this union will never be forgotten.
A Rosary for Brother Granado is being held Sunday Evening at 6:00 PM at the Greenwood Funeral Home, 3100 White Settlement Rd, Ft. Worth, TX 76107.
The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church, 6150 Pershing Ave, Ft. Worth, TX 76107.
I ask that you please keep his wife, Maria, and the entire Granado family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Fraternally yours,
Paul Black
