The Company maintains that the unit has a performance quality issue for individuals designated as drivers.
The following takeaways have been proposed by the company:
- Deletion of the 42.5 hour work week for Fire Inspectors. Inspectors would suffer a reduction in pay year one as currently proposed.
- Employees will no longer receive 16 hours of vacation pay on their anniversary date
- Employees assigned as drivers will be required to take annual proficiency tests.
- Drivers required to maintain new special proficiencies will not receive any additional pay to maintain qualifications
- All employees currently assigned as drivers would no longer hold that designation.
- Seniority would no longer be factored in the selection of drivers
- No commitment to implement the 48/96 work schedule
- Mandatory overtime
