Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a Day for remembering those who died while serving our Country. When we think of their selflessness and heroism, we are reminded of words spoken by Jesus: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

The life we enjoy today, the life that we take so much for granted, were bought for us by the sacrifices of those that died so that we could live. Brave men and women of all ages, who believed our values and freedoms were worth dying for. Their brave and unselfish sacrifice shall never be forgotten.

As you enjoy this Holiday weekend please take the time to remember the thousands who have died so that we might live. Say a prayer for those who have died and the families that were left behind, and a prayer for Peace and Protection for those that serve today and in the future.

Fire up the grill for Memorial Day!

Fire up the grill for Memorial Day and all summer long! On Memorial Day, we remember the individuals who gave their lives defending our country and recognize the Veterans and Heroes who are in service today. We salute all of those courageous men and women who have defended our country so that we may enjoy the rights and privileges we have every day in the U.S. Programs like organized labor’s Helmets to Hardhats help connect men and women from the armed forces with building and construction careers.

Since Memorial Day is also the unofficial kickoff of summer, plenty of people will be firing up the grill and enjoying the warm weather. Remember to use union-made supplies on Memorial Day and all summer long.
